Tom Freeman of The North

Tom Freeman of The North, written and directed by Mohammed Rabbani, is dark comedy about two brothers growing up in Harlem. Although they are brothers, they are completely different; one is accepting of his black roots and culture while the other, Tom Freeman, rejects it with the hope of gaining social mobility. Inspired by Curtis Mayfield, Gabriela Baez worked with singer Tom E. Morgan to get as authentic a sound as possible. Gabriela played electric bass, organ, co-arranged, recorded, and mixed the theme song.
